Dr. Bill Dorfman


Charlie Gallagher

Executive Director

He has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years and dedicated his life to helping others. Dr. Bill has been featured on TV shows like ABC’s Extreme Makeover and CBS’s The Doctors, and has helped thousands of patients smile.

Dr. Bill has been a highly sought after motivational leader for young adults and is the Co-Founder of Discus Dental – one of the world’s leading dental companies who’s products BriteSmile, Zoom!, Nite White & BreathRx have become household names worldwide. At its peak sales were in excess of $176 million dollars a year and in December 2010 Discus Dental was was acquired by Philips, makers of Sonicare. He is the author of the NY Times Best Seller, Billion Dollar Smile, and is frequently featured on TV shows such as Larry King Live, The Tyra Banks Show, Good Morning America, Access Hollywood, E! and more.

Dr. Bill is a loving father of three daughters and recipient of 14 Lifetime Achievement Awards.

A participant in LEAP’s inaugural program in 2008, Charlie Gallagher has a long history of involvement with, and contribution to, the Foundation. As a LEAP Coach and now leading the organization as Executive Director, Charlie is passionate about supporting people toward the achievement of their goals and helping the organization to positively impact the lives of young people across America and the world.

After graduating from Loyola University Chicago with a Bachelor of Science, Charlie moved to Melbourne, Australia where he worked for the nonprofit The Centre for Sustainability Leadership as Program Assistant and for Australia’s top advertising agency, Clemenger BBDO. Charlie also spent two years developing and implementing creative problem solving camps at Air Force Bases across the US with Destination ImagiNation, where he saw firsthand the great impact that nonprofit organizations have on youth in a short amount of time.

Bill Guy

Founder & Chairman Emeritus of Cornerstone International Group* and CEO of his local company, Cornerstone Leadership Solutions, Mr. Guy has served as a consultant to Boards of Directors and senior management of many of the world’s largest organizations in both the public and private sectors. This senior-level consulting has included numerous executive evaluations of Chairpersons, Presidents, Managing Directors, and other top management in virtually every industry.

Lisa Scaffidi

Lisa Scaffidi is the Lord Mayor of Perth and has served in that role since 2007.  She serves as a Board Member on many local Boards and Committees in Australia and is thrilled to be a part of the LEAP Foundation’s Board.  With a keen focus on youth – Lisa also inspires and mentors young West Australians to realize they can fulfill their dreams and career goals from the comfort of home.  Technology and globalization are helping to allow world differences to be blurred and for the borders to disappear.

Tom Nadeau

Tom Nadeau is the founder and CEO of Nadeau “furniture with a soul” and Tatsu “ramen with a soul”.  Tom founded Nadeau in 1991.  Nadeau imports handmade furniture with beautiful timeless designs, and offers them at unbeatable prices with “Southern charm” customer service. Prior to Nadeau, Tom was founder and president of Professional Research, a national freelance research company. Professional Research was sold in 1993.

In 2012, Tom started Tatsu Ramen after noticing in Tokyo the popularity of the comfort food Ramen and the efficiency of Japanese ordering vending machines which are non existent in the US. Tatsu brought it to the next level with iPads and an ordering software that is built in-house.

He also loves meeting and mentoring young people. He lives with his wife, Angel, and two children in Brentwood, California.

Mick Deluca

Assistant Vice Chancellor, Campus Life – UCLA
Michael (Mick) Deluca is the Assistant Vice Chancellor, Campus Life at UCLA where he has worked for the last 25 years. In this role Mick oversees a campus cluster to include campus student activities, student leadership programs, over 1000 student organizations, student event planning, community programs to include student initiated access, campus retention, and student initiated service projects,  a wide variety of recreation programs and services including instructional programs, summer camps, youth and family programs, competitive  and intramural sports, 54 club teams, outdoor adventures, fitness and wellness, cultural arts, adaptive sports, and open recreation, 22 recreational and multi-use sport facilities including the John Wooden Center and Pauley Pavilion, and event operation and management. In his time at UCLA, Mick has been in the role of Associate Director, and then Director, Department of Cultural and Recreational Affairs, and Executive Director, Recreation and Campus Life. Prior to working at UCLA, Mick also worked at the University of Wyoming and the University of Denver and received degrees from Colorado Mesa University and the University of Denver.  He is also an active leader within the UC system and Pac 12 Conference and at the national level most recently serving on the NIRSA, Leaders in Collegiate Recreation, Board of Directors where he was the 2012-13 NIRSA President.

Paul Guerin

Paul has served as president of the Friends of the Israeli Defense Board (FIDF) for over six years which enhanced his love for the soldiers of Israel and their struggles on the front lines. He also serves on the Executive and Cabinet committees of The Board of Governors for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and is spear-heading the $30,000,000 campaign for the Stem Cell Reconstructive Research. He has been in the construction business for 40 years and has recently sold the company to Toll Brothers who is carrying on the Brand of Shapell Industries, Inc. in fine fashion.  He has played significant leadership roles in the community hoping to inspire others through example.

Randy Levine

Randy is currently Regional Vice President for Stearns Lending, LLC which is the 16th largest mortgage lender in the United States.  In this role he is responsible for overseeing the lending operations in Southern California and Arizona.  Randy also founded United Pacific Mortgage in 1990, one of the largest independently owned mortgage banking firms in the United States and recognized as one of Los Angeles’ fastest growing companies before its successful sale to Countrywide Home Loans in 2007.

He is a current Member and Officer of the World Presidents Organization (WPO).  He enjoys mentoring and coaching and has been an instructor in real estate fundamentals at California State University, Northridge.

Carol Marinello

In 2013, Ms. Marinello was recruited to be President of Cavotec Inet and Cavotec Dabico as well as Board President of Cavotec Contracting, Cavotec Inet US and Cavotec Dabico US and Board Director of Cavotec USA.  Carol was chosen to lead these companies due to her expertise in leading businesses in transition, creating profitable solutions and developing new market opportunities.

At Cavotec, she effectively developed a strategy to integrate two companies providing Airport Ground Support Equipment for commercial and defense sectors.  Her integrated market approach resulted in increasing Inet sales by 70% and Dabico US sales by 17% in 2013 over 2012 levels.

Lauren Wald

Lauren Wald was always destined to be in the fashion industry. Her grandmother has an extensive fashion background that rubbed off on Lauren at an early age. Lauren attended Drexel University where she studied Merchandising & Design. After college, Lauren moved to New York City to pursue her career. She got her start at Marc Jacobs coordinating an online sample sale. After that she moved into Product Development working for Nautica Kids and then Timberland.

After three years in NYC she moved to Los Angeles. After several years working for different corporate companies Lauren decided to start her own business as a wardrobe consultant and home organizer. As a closet consultant, Lauren takes care of everything in an individual’s closet from A to Z.

Darion Lowenstein

In his 17 years of working in entertainment, Darion has produced some of the biggest video games in the industry at companies like Electronic Arts, Activision and Rockstar Games.  At Scopely, Darion oversees the day to day production of all titles as well as the development of future games. Scopely is a next-generation mobile entertainment network that is redefining the way mobile apps are developed, distributed and monetized.

Darion is also the Creator, Host, and Producer of Game Guy TV, the panel show featuring all game industry experts discussing the latest news, trends, and games. Prior to Scopely, Darion was the vice president of Interactive for Digital Artists Entertainment, where he oversaw the interactive strategy and development for top brands like Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo, the number one athlete in the world on social media (currently over 59 million likes on Facebook).

Jeanine Dalis Klima

Jeanine Dalis Klima joined the UCLA Office of Gift Planning this year as the new Director of Stewardship. In her new position, Jeanine will steward and engage UCLA’s longtime planned giving donors and grow the UCLA Legacy Society, thus ensuring a strong pipeline of estate gifts to UCLA through the Centennial Campaign and beyond.

Jeanine brings 20 years of professional fundraising experience from UCLA External Affairs, City of Hope National Cancer Center, Netzel Associates and other non-profit organizations, and a proven track record in building and running development departments, working with senior leadership, securing major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and planned giving.  Most recently, Jeanine served as UCLA’s Director of Development for Alumni Scholarships for 5 years.

Pamela Phillips

Pamela is the Director of Business Development at GemIIni Systems.  Gemiini Systems helps children with learning and language disabilities.  GemIIni Systems has created a clinically proven web- based intervention for teaching language, social, developmental and vocational skills to children and adults in several of the world’s most-spoken languages. While the program was designed and especially effective for Autism, it also addresses the therapeutic needs of clients with: traumatic brain injury, stroke, down syndrome, dyslexia, cerebral palsy and many other disorders. Our mission is to make it available and affordable to every child.
Pamela also believes in passion and hard work.  If you enjoy what you do, you will succeed.  There is a word “buddhi” – we don’t have it in English.  It is the deep philosophical knowledge that enters your soul without being processed by your brain. It is knowing, deeply, without the filter of thought… you just ‘know’ something, seen as an intuitive faculty giving increased spiritual awareness.  Emphasize the humanity in every child, allow beauty/life/love to always be a part of our culture.

Fred Leeds

Mr. Leeds is responsible for the overall strategic direction of Fred Leeds Properties and its real estate operation.  He is responsible for directing the investment activities of the company, including acquisitions, development, value-added projects and dispositions; and, oversees the management of over 4,000 residential apartments units as well as 1,500,000 square feet of retail properties throughout Southern California, Arizona, and New York.  One of his several notable projects includes the Wilshire Union Center, the largest land parcel privately owned on Wilshire Boulevard west of Downtown Los Angeles to the beach.

Fred attended the University of Southern California.  His active participation in the community has earned him several awards and accommodations including the City of Los Angeles Mayor Certificate of Appreciation Award for the Improvement of the Model Neighborhood Program Target Area.

Gary Dorfman

Gary is a Managing Partner for Beacon Pointe Wealth Advisors, one of the largest Independent Investment Advisors in the country. The firm oversees approximately $7 Billion in assets under management. Beacon Pointe specializes in providing a consultative approach to portfolio management. In addition, Gary has been a strong advocate of Impact Investing – investing in companies that are making a true difference in our world by addressing social and environmental problems on a global basis. In essence – investing can and should be profitable – but also done in a manner that has a positive impact on our world.

He has also served on the Investment Committee for the Bower Foundation of Santa Barbara, the Advisory Board for the Dream Foundation of Santa Barbara and currently is serving on the Board of Trustees for Santa Barbara Middle School. He is the proud father of Tyler, Ava and Colby.
